ABOUT ME

I am Julie Atabe, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Colorado, with additional licensure in Wisconsin and Arizona. With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds as they navigate personal challenges, life transitions, and emotional healing.

I am passionate about helping adults build resilience, develop deeper self-awareness, and make meaningful, lasting changes. My clinical work is grounded in a client-centered philosophy, which means I view therapy as a collaborative process where your voice, values, and goals lead the way. I am here to support you, challenge you when needed, and walk alongside you as you grow.

In my work, I draw on evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns and develop healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and responding. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is a highly effective, research-supported method for helping clients process trauma and reduce emotional distress linked to past experiences.

I specialize in working with adults facing concerns such as:

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Life transitions and adjustment challenges

  • Low self-esteem

  • Grief and loss

  • Feeling emotionally stuck or overwhelmed

In our sessions, you can expect a safe, non-judgmental environment where you will be fully heard and supported. I work with adults aged 18 and up in individual therapy, offering a blend of empathy, insight, and practical tools tailored to your unique needs.

Above all, I believe in the human capacity for growth, healing, and transformation. I’m continually inspired by the courage and strength my clients bring into the therapy room, and I am honored to be part of their journey.

When I am not in session, I enjoy reading, listening to music, watching movies, and spending quality time with my family. These simple joys keep me grounded and energized in my work.
